Vedic Mahtematics is pure mathematics based on  certain formulae (Sutras) . There are 16 sutras given in Vedic Mahtmatics. We will solve all the questions using these sutras and subsutras. So you should at least know the names and meanings of these sutras and subsutras. We will start solving questions from the nex post. I will try to post video of every part too so that you can easily understand the solutions.

These formulae are as under

1. एकाधिकेन पूर्वेण (Ekadhiken Poorven) :- It means one more than one before.

2. निखिलं नवतशचरम दशतः (Nikhilam Navtashcharam dashtah ):- all from nine and the last from ten.

3. उर्ध्व तिर्यग्भायम (Urdhva Tirgyabhayam):- vertically and crosswise

4. परावर्त्य  योजयेत (Paraavartya Yojayet):- Transpose and adjust

5. शून्यं साम्यसमुच्चये (Shunyam Saamyasamuchchaye):- When the sum is the same the sum is zero.

6. (आनुरुप्ये) शुन्यमन्यत  (Anurupye) Shunyamanyat:- If one is in ratio the other is zero.

7.संकलनव्यवकलनाभ्याम  (Sanklanvyavakalanaabhyam):- By addition and by substraction

8.पूरणापूरणाभ्याम (Poornapoornabhyaam):- By the completion or non completion

9. चलनकलानाभ्यम (Chalan-Kalanaabhyaam):- Differential Calculus

10. यावदूनं (Yaavdoonam):- double

11. व्यस्टिसमस्टिः (vyashtisamashih ):- use the average

12. शेषान्यकेनचर्मेन (shesyanken charmen):- the remainder by last digit.

13. सोपान्त्यद्वयमन्त्यम (Sopaantyadvamantyam):- the ultimate and twice the penultimate

14. एकान्येन पूर्वेण (ekaanyen poorven):- one less than previour (it’s meaning is  just opposite to the first sutra)

15. गुणितसमुच्चय (Gunitsamuchchay):- Th product of the sum of coefficients in the factors

16. गुणकसमुच्चय (gunaksamuchchay):- product of all the multipliers

So these are 16 Sutras and there are 13 sub-sutras. We will discuss these sutras and sub-sutras while solving real mathematical questions.

Maa Saraswati

Maa Saraswati

Today is the day of Maa Sarswati, Goddess of learning. Therefore I have started this blog on this auspicious day. Let us pray Maa Saraswati for her blessings so that we may be able to learn quickly and easily. This day is also called “Basant Panchami”.

Vedic Mahtematics contains the methods that were used by Indian Sages during Vedic Periods in India. Later people did not study these methods because they felt it was for Hindus only or it was a religious mathematics. Actually mathematics was used in Ancient India since the year best know to God. These methods were invented by sages and practised by pupils of ancient India. After thousand of years still people find these methods very easy and handy.

An example : If I tell you to multiply 88 with 92 . you will certainly use your pen to solve the question but there is a method in Vedic Mathematics using that you can solve it orally and reply within 5 seconds that the answer is 8096 directly without using any pen.

So you will study these methods step by step here.
